Dennis P. Herbert graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in History and Sociology/Anthropology and received his J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1992.
Prior to joining Powell Trachtman in 2005, Mr. Herbert litigated construction accident, product liability, medical malpractice, civil rights and premises liability cases on behalf of corporate defendants in Pennsylvania and New Jersey for several civil defense firms.
Mr. Herbert's current practice focuses on the defense of construction defects, architects' and engineers' professional liability, contract disputes, construction accidents, and fire-loss cases.
Mr. Herbert has handled a number of high profile, complex construction matters regarding claimed design defects, delay claims and non-payment actions involving significant development projects, including “The Walk” in Atlantic City, New Jersey, The Wells Fargo Building in Chester, Pennsylvania, and the Piazza at Schmidt’s Brewery Complex in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Herbert has also defended numerous wrongful death and person injury claims concerning established construction and new construction projects against architects, engineers and contractors, including the Philadelphia Zoo fire, the Tropicana garage collapse and the Mount Airy Lodge in the Poconos.
Mr. Herbert is admitted to the practice of law in the State Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the United States District Court of the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
