Upon his graduation from law school, Richard H. Welsh served as Assistant District Attorney with the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office for four years where he obtained extensive trial and appellate experience. Mr. Welsh has successfully prosecuted hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases including numerous jury trials. In addition to his trial experience, Mr. Welsh drafted and argued numerous pre and post-conviction briefs and motions. After leaving the District Attorney's Office, Mr. Welsh joined a regional law firm located in Montgomery County where he pursued a civil law practice focused primarily in the areas of real estate, commercial construction, municipal law, and assorted contract and transactional matters. In 2003, Mr. Welsh joined a national property subrogation law firm where he was lead counsel responsible for law suits filed and prosecuted in multiple jurisdictions nationwide. Mr. Welsh's experience includes numerous cases involving a wide array of complex legal issues including but not limited to, construction defects, products liability and matters of general and professional liability. Mr. Welsh joined Powell Trachtman in 2008, where his practice focuses on construction litigation, products liability, and commercial matters. Mr. Welsh earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from The American University in Washington D.C. in 1990. In 1996, he graduated from the Dickinson School of Law, where he earned the Calli Award in Copyright Law. Mr. Welsh is admitted to practice law in the state courts of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Montgomery County Bar Associations. |
